60 Years of Red Rocks and Dirty Bumpers — Easter Jeep Safari Is Back
If you've never heard of Easter Jeep Safari, you're not alone — it's one of those events that Americans take for granted and the rest of the world has no idea exists. Here's why it deserves your attention.
What Is It?
Every spring since 1967, what started as a simple one-day trail ride organised by the Moab Chamber of Commerce to bring visitors to town has grown into a nine-day off-road festival set in the jaw-dropping red rock landscape of Moab, Utah. Over 20,000 Jeep enthusiasts are expected to descend on Moab for trail rides, community gatherings, and the kind of organised chaos only off-roaders can pull off. Iconic routes like Hell's Revenge, Poison Spider, and Golden Spike get filled wall to wall with lifted 4x4s for nine straight days.
Why Is This Year Special?
This is the 60th annual Easter Jeep Safari, running March 28 through April 5, 2026 — and it's shaping up to be the biggest one yet. Jeep brand will be unveiling a new batch of concept vehicles , which always draws massive crowds. There's also a new addition this year: Camp Moab, a free all-day experience for youth aged 6–17, focused on outdoor ethics, conservation, and four-wheeling basics. A nice touch for a 60th birthday.
Fun Fact
Despite the name, it's not just for Jeeps — any street-legal 4x4 is welcome, as long as it has 4-low, decent ground clearance, and proper tyres. Ford Broncos, Land Cruisers, Defenders — all fair game on the rocks.
Need to Know If You're Going
Registration and check-in is at the Spanish Trail Arena from 7am–10am each morning, with a full vendor exposition on Thursday and Friday. Trail fees are $75 per vehicle per trail day — bring water, sun protection, and layers, because Moab spring weather doesn't play nice. And if you're thinking of going for the 60th, veterans recommend booking accommodation 8–12 months in advance for anniversary years — lodging fills up fast.
Freak's Take
I love that this exists. 60 years of people dragging their trucks into the desert, breaking axles, making friends, and doing it all again the next day — that's a community. Whether you're a Jeep lifer or just someone who respects a good trail, Easter Jeep Safari is on the bucket list. Now if only Moab wasn't quite so far from here...
